The Room Service Festival was founded in 2025 by Alexandra Karaolanov, and Alain Papazian in Lyon, joined by Agathe Masa this year, as a platform for contemporary graphic design beyond the mainstream. Exhibitions, conferences, an independent graphic design market, workshops, and a film evening make 2026’ edition a unique gathering point for the design community in France and beyond.

The dedicated theme was print and publishing, a topic that resonated deeply with us as manufacturers of recycled paper. We share the conviction that sustainability and creative quality are not contradictory. To support the festival and its founders, we made our paper Lenza Top Recycling Super CIE 135 (135 g/m²) available to produce the event program.

On the ground, Aude was present for Lenzing Papier with a stand, posters, and many conversations about paper and design. The opening evening at the MAC brought valuable connections and confirmed that recycled paper remains in demand for institutional projects. At KOMMET, we were also moved by the exhibition“Réalité(s)”, which brought together works at the intersection of graphic design and fiction. We were particularly impressed by the young designer Alec Vivier-Reynaud, who presented his bioprinting technique. In the exhibition“Cultivating Our Ecosystems”embodies an attitude we share: design as a dialogue with natural processes.

The festival strengthened our visibility within the Lyon and European graphic design community and inspired us with an idea we would like to pursue: a creative competition with students from the Beaux-Arts school in Lyon, where our paper becomes the foundation for illustration, photography, or artistic expression.
